RCMP on scene of downed powerline

PICTOU – RCMP are on scene of a downed powerline.  

At approximately 12:46 p.m. today, a boom truck clipped a power pole on the Haliburton Road, causing a potential hazard to drivers on the Haliburton Road and 106 highway.

Officers  are on scene and southbound traffic is being diverted at the Pictou rotary onto Highway 376, while northbound traffic on the 106 highway is being diverted onto the Granton Abercrombie Road.

Nova Scotia Power crews are working on the issue and TIR is assisting with traffic control. 

Police expect the road to the closed for several hours.
