Police crackdown on impaired driving leads to another charge

NEW GLASGOW – A concerned citizen calling police to report an impaired driver has led to an arrest.

On Thursday, August 25 at approximately 8:50 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police arrested an adult male from Pictou County and charged him with impaired driving, after a concerned citizen called police to report a possible impaired driver.

Police located a silver Ford Focus at a parking lot at 38 George St., New Glasgow, and charged the 31-year-old.

The accused will appear in court at a later date.

Cons. Ken MacDonald said, “The quick response of the citizen calling police to report the impaired driver may have saved lives.”
