Police investigating on-ice incident in Trenton

New Glasgow Regional Police are investigating an on-ice incident at a hockey game that took place at the Trenton Minor Sports Community Centre Trenton.

The incident involving two players, occurred on Sunday, October 9, between the hours of 7 and 9:45 p.m.

Police say during the junior B hockey game, one of the two players was seriously injured. As a result, an 18-year old adult male player was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital and was later transported to the QE II Health Science Centre Halifax with serious head injuries.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance; if anyone took any pictures, video or witnessed the incident on Sunday night they are asked to call New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit at 902-752-1941.

New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
