THORBURN – Pictou District RCMP have arrested a 79-year-old man for driving while his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired by alcohol.
Just before 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Pictou District RCMP received a call of a two-vehicle collision on Sherbrooke Road. There were no injuries to either driver.
When police arrived on scene they found two vehicles damaged from the collision. Police spoke to the driver of vehicle that had called police, who stated the other driver openly admitted he was impaired. A roadside test was conducted on the 79-year-old driver of the other vehicle and results were a fail.
As a result, the Trenton man has been charged with impaired drivingl. He was released and will appear on January 23, 2017 in Pictou Provincial Court.
