NEW GLASGOW – A local man has been arrested for break, enter and theft from two New Glasgow businesses.
The 41-year-old was charged in connection with a break and enter into Big Al’s Convenience Store and a former clothing store, both located on North Provost Street.
In the early hours of October 28 at approximately 12:58 am, New Glasgow Regional Police and with assistance from New Glasgow Regional Police Forensic Identification, K-9 Unit and Stellarton Police arrested the accused.
Police responded to a report that a male smashed a window at the former clothing store and then smashed a window at Big Al’s . The accused entered both businesses and when police arrived he was located inside Big Al’s store.
He will appear in Provincial Court today (Friday) and will be charged with two counts of break and entering, mischief, assault, possession of a controlled substance and failure to comply with an undertaking.
New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
