NOEL, Joseph Thomas — 76, Pictou. On Thursday, January 12th, the death of Joseph Thomas Noel occurred at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer. Joe worked various different jobs but found his calling in shipbuilding wanting to be a steel fitter. He worked his profession until retirement in 2005 from the Irving Halifax Shipyard. He was a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything – your go-to guy if something was broken. He most recently enjoyed long drives with “Mom” and “Boots” looking for deer. Joseph was the son of the late Charles and Mary (Eva) (nee Cyr) Noel. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Janice (nee Powell) Noel. Daughters Michelle (Shawn) Buck and Nancy MacIsaac. Grandchildren Amanda MacIsaac, Matthew (Kayla) MacIsaac, Brandon Reddick (Lacy), Cody Reddick (Kaitlin). Sister, Margaret Carpenter. Brothers Harry, Edward (Barb), Harold and brothers-in-law-Harold Hemmings and Ron (Chickie) Charlton. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Doris Hemmings, Theresa Charlton, Ann and Rose in infancy and by great-granddaughter Madison Read. The family would like to thank Dr. Bush, nurses and staff of the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital for their generous and kind support. Cremation has taken place. No service or funeral as per his request. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.†
