LOGAN, Elizabeth (Canning) 1950-2017 — It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Mom, and Grandma, Liz Logan, on April 27 2017. We will always remember Liz for her passion for life, for how she cherished her sons, and her love and natural grace for everyone she met. Born in Caledonia, Queen’s County, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Thorne) Canning of Pictou. Liz attended Pictou Academy and worked many years at the Royal Bank, before moving to Halifax to work in Home Care, where so many patients were blessed by her compassionate care. She is survived by her two sons Kevin (Bella) and grandson, Aiden of Caribou; and Russell of Surrey, BC; and siblings Carl (Janet), Theresa (Jimmy), Peter (Debbie), Linda, Barbara, Vivian (Tom), Bernadette, Carolyn (Rob), John (Vera), Marion (Willie), Debbie (John), Heather (Malcolm), numerous nieces and nephews. Liz was predeceased by her sisters Coleen and Rosalie. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Thursday, May 4, 7-9 p.m. at McLaren Funeral Home in Pictou. Service will be Friday, May 5, at 11 a.m. at Stella Maris Church in Pictou. Reception to follow at Stella Maris Hall. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army, the SPCA, or a charity of your choice.
