ANTIGONISH – Three people were sent to hospital Sunday following an early morning collision.
On July 2, at 7:40 a.m., Antigonish District RCMP and RCMP Eastern Traffic Services responded to a two-vehicle collision on Hwy 104 in Merland, Antigonish County. The initial investigation determined that a vehicle driven by a 52-year-old man was travellling east when it was struck from behind by another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, a 32-year-old man, is being investigated for impaired operation as a result of this collision.
The two drivers, along with a 28-year-old male passenger in the second vehicle, were transported to the St. Martha’s Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All three men are from Antigonish County.
The collision remains under investigation with the assistance of the RCMP Collision Analyst.
