The Lyons Brook Women’s Institute met recently at the home of Lynn MacLean.
Following a pot luck supper members shared memories of Christmas past and plans for this year’s season. Games, quizzes and readings were enjoyed. A varied supply of personal needs products such as shampoo, deodorant, razor blades, tooth paste and such was brought for the Pictou West Food Bank.
WI plans for the new year were discussed. Among them was the decision to take part in the Pictou District WI project which is to supply 50 quilts — crib or youth sized — to the IWK Hospital. The Lyons Brook branch will make at least five of these.
The next meeting will be held on January 18 at 7 p.m. at the Lyons Brook Hall with Len Cheverie speaking on photography. All are welcome.
