New Glasgow Regional Police and Pictou County District RCMP are investigating an abduction and assault and are seeking information from the public.
On Saturday, Jan. 20 at approximately 8:45 p.m., New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report of an abduction that took place in the Aberdeen Business Centre near the Giant Tiger store where an unknown male assaulted the victim and forced her and himself into a 2017 white Dodge Durango with New Brunswick licence plates.
The suspect then immediately left the area in the Dodge, travelling north on East River Road then on to Washington Street, Marsh Street, Vale Road and onto the Sherbrook Road heading towards Blue Mountain. Pictou County District RCMP are also investigating an assault that took place in Blue Mountain in relation to the abduction. Once in Blue Mountain, the suspect fled the scene in another vehicle, described as a small four-door sedan that was parked nearby.
The suspect is described as a white male in his mid -30s to mid 40s, clean shaven and wearing a baseball cap.
The victim was taken to Aberdeen Hospital and treated for non life threatening injuries.
The New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit and Pictou County District RCMP General Investigations Section continue to investigate.
