Police charge woman with arson

UPDATE: New Glasgow Regional Police have arrested a 26-year-old Trenton  woman in relation to the arson at a residence and travel trailer in Trenton.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Trenton Fire Department, assisted by New Glasgow and Abercrombie Fire departments and New Glasgow Regional Police, responded to a fire at a residence and travel trailer on Philip Street.

When police and fire arrived, the source of the fire proved to be suspicious and the investigation continues. The residence and trailer were completed destroyed.

Immediately after the report of this fire, Trenton Fire Department also responded to a small fire inside a residence on Sixth Street.

No one was injured in either fire.

New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit continue to investigate.
