NEW GLASGOW – Police have determined that an abduction reported last weekend did not take place.
But Pictou County District RCMP is continuing to investigate the alleged assault that took place in Blue Mountain.
New Glasgow Regional Police received a report on January 20 at about 8:45 p.m. of an abduction that took place in the Aberdeen Business Centre parking lot near the Giant Tiger store where an unknown male assaulted the victim and forced her and himself into a Dodge Durango and travelled to Blue Mountain.
New Glasgow Regional Police and Pictou County District RCMP immediately responded and a complete investigation was initiated.
As a result of the investigation, police have determined that no abduction took place.
Police would also want to reinforce to the public that there is no need to be fearful of any abductor in the case.
The female has been charged with public mischief and will appear in court at a later date.
