ARISAIG – Already renowned for its maple vodka, Steinhart Distillery is making new waves with the release of several other high-quality spirits, including organic vodka, haskap vodka and gin.
Following many high-profile awards in 2017, Steinhart was most recently shortlisted for the 2018 Icon of Gin Awards and will travel to London in February to see whether his gin will take home gold at the event.
“This news was a surprise to me because I hadn’t submitted Steinhart Gin to be considered for this award,” shares Thomas Steinhart, owner and operator. “Instead, I found out that my gin was nominated by industry peers who love my product and want to share it with others.”
This isn’t the first time that the Steinhart Gin has been acknowledged lately among experts and industry leaders alike. In late 2017, The Fifty Best hosted a wines and spirits tasting using professional criteria, a pre-qualified panel of judges and blind taste testing to distinguish the “Best of” Awards in 2017.
Steinhart won a medal for every product submitted, including a gold medal for “Best Gin” and a double gold medal for the maple vodka and organic vodka. The Steinhart habanero vodka and haskap vodka also won gold and silver, respectively, for “Best Flavoured Vodka” in the competition.
“Without a doubt, the Steinhart gin will turned even the fiercest gin critics into fans,” shares Steinhart. “This is because we use only the best ingredients to create an incredibly smooth flavour that’s unlike the typical artificial taste that consumers are accustomed to today.”
Steinhart Distillery continues to offer its products in its retail store online and in select Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) stores and farmers markets locally. Nationally, the products are also available in Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and Alberta as well as internationally in Europe and China.
