Progress report needed on New Scotland park

To the Editor:

It is long past the time for an accounting to the taxpayers of the Town of New Glasgow and the Municipality of Pictou County relating to the costs regarding the joint venture called “New Scotland.”

This was supposed to be a successful business park on East River Road; it seems far from it. If it was a success, there would be no need for inquires. By now, we would be awash in self-congratulatory press releases from all those taking credit for their perspicacity and business acumen. This has not happened. As the proverb says, “Victory has a thousand fathers, defeat is an orphan.”

May we now have a comprehensive and honest progress report including of course purchase price, borrowing and interest charges, improvements and any salaries paid to promote “this park.”
