NEW GLASGOW — The owner of a private sale real estate company says she’s elated with the award she has received.

Mallory Whitty, owner of the local PropertyGuys.com franchise, took home four awards that include top honours as the company’s 2017 franchise of the year on February 3 at its gala and national franchise conference in Moncton, N.B.

“It’s an absolute dream come true to be winning franchise of the year,” she said. “This year has really been the culmination of everything I’ve learned since joining PropertyGuys.com in 2011. With 600 franchises across Canada, it’s no small feat.”

Whitty operates her franchise at the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce in New Glasgow. The other three awards included an MVP award as the company’s top team member to her associate, Kristian Hawboldt, a franchise award for best customer service and top eastern franchise.

“Adding her really has been a godsend and a big contributor to our success in 2017,” she said, referring to Hawboldt. “Bringing in a strong player like Kristian allowed us to double our business, and I think we’ve just scratched the surface of what we can achieve in Pictou County.”

The Chamber officially recognized Whitty and Hawboldt at its Hub location in town.

Executive director Jack Kyte said they are demonstrating what entrepreneurs in rural Nova Scotia can compete at the national level.

He said he is thrilled that they were the first to lease office space at the Hub shared work space facility.

“They’re leading the way with a combination of high energy and innovation in a challenging sector,” he said. “We are very proud of these women and their accomplishments, their innovative approaches to doing business and their entrepreneurship.”
