To the Editor:
Last week’s motor vehicle collision was the 400th accident on 38 km un-twinned Trans Canada Highway between Sutherlands River and Antigonish.
A few hours before this crash, the Nova Scotia Government said they will be looking at public-private partnership to twin this deadly section quicker.
I applaud this move; this section has seen 15 fatalities since 2009 and many more life changing events for some of the people directly involved in these accidents; also taking its toll on first responders that respond to these accidents, many being volunteers firefighters. The sooner this section can be twinned, the better it will be.
