NEW GLASGOW — Glen Haven Manor has launched a new generation website which has been built and designed by a locally owned multi-media company, RavenMedia.

RavenMedia, owned by Jon Visser, worked closely with the Glen Haven team led by Donna MacLane, Community, Relationships & Engagement; Kimberly Dickson, Communications & Media Relations; and Janice Jordan, Employee Relations, to create a vision, framework, editorial content and strategic direction for the new Website.

The new website features a video production of Glen Haven’s Year in Review for 2017, developed by Visser and the Glen Haven team. Previously the Year in Review was designed as a print publication but this year the video production adds a new high energy dimension to this important communications piece for Glen Haven.

The Glen Haven team says the new website is driven by a cutting-edge content management system that enables the site to stay current and up to date in real time. Many elements of the site are dynamically driven content so that there will be notification of changes in events, advisories and the dining menu the moment they take place. The website sports a sleek, fresh look with new modules that will regularly change such as a Thru the Lens spot on the home page which will feature Glen Haven happenings on a weekly basis as well as news releases, stories with photos, and news coverage. Also new will be the enhanced presentation Recreation Calendar and the Residents Dining Menu.

“There is expanded information on the exceptional individualized quality long-term care services offered by Glen Haven as well as links to important resources for those interested in finding out more about long-term care at Glen Haven,” explains CEO Smith. “We are committed to providing easily accessible information for our residents and their families, potential residents as well as other stakeholders, the community at large and all of our partners in care. The site’s design has been tailored to function as efficiently on mobile devices and tablets as on desk top computers. We are also proud to showcase Glen Haven as a major employer in Northern Nova Scotia with rewarding job choices and inspiring opportunities for career development and growth in a variety of areas from nursing services, to nutritional services, to maintenance, recreational services, therapeutic services, finance and other quality care aspects. Glen Haven is also proud to be designated by Accreditation Canada and is a member of the Nova Scotia Society of Nursing Homes-Community Governed Organizations.”

Within the next phase of the website, a staff Intranet will provide team members constant access to elements such as scheduling, internal communications and even E-learning elements from any location via a simple to use login on all devices with internet access. The website will also feed data into other new technology at Glen Haven with details soon to be announced and information on enriched housing at East River Manor.
