New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a two-vehicle collision early this morning.
At approximately 7:30 a.m., a Mercedes SUV and a Jeep were involved in a collision at the intersection of Almont Avenue and Bernard Street. As a result, both vehicles were heavily damaged and a tow truck took the vehicles from the scene.
The driver of the Mercedes fled the scene on foot; it is unknown if the driver was male or female. The driver of the Jeep, a woman, was treated by EHS for non-life threatening injuries.
Police have enlisted the use of the K-9 unit for help in locating the driver.
Police continue to investigate.
