It has been a busy week for the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
A quantity of drugs were seized from a Trenton home and a male accused was arrested in Stellarton for breaking and entering, both involving the Street Crime Enforcement Unit.
On June 27 at approximately 4 p.m., the Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the New Glasgow Regional Police, executed a search warrant at Grandview Avenue, Trenton. At this time, police seized a quantity of cocaine, hydromorphone, cannabis marijuana, cash, and a prohibited weapon. Subsequently, police arrested a 40-year-old male and 28-year-old female, both from Trenton.
The male accused is facing multiple drug-related charges including trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking, production, obstructing police, and possession of a prohibited weapon. The female is facing one count of possession and obstructing police.
Both persons have been released from custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
On June 28 at approximately 2 p.m., the Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with the assistance of the Stellarton Police Service and the New Glasgow Regional Police, arrested a 26-year-old male for break and enter into a residence on Terrace Avenue, Stellarton.
The Stellarton resident has been charged with break and enter, theft, and possession of stolen property.
The accused remains in custody and will appear in Provincial Court at a later date.
