Pictou County United Way is ready to have some fun on the green this week with their fourth annual golf tournament.
While the fundraiser is not their biggest of the year, the organization is thankful for the teams that participate as well as enjoying the fun day out on the green.
“For us it’s about engaging and doing something fun with the donors,” said Jessica Smith, executive director of the organization.
Some of the different holes along the course will have an agency involved with United Way set up to allow them to meet donors and to have a little extra fun along the way. Smith added that organizations such as the YMCA put on things like physical activities or games.
“It’s very positive, it’s another fun way for them to support their community,” Smith added.
The tournament usually sees a full roster with about 23 teams taking part. This years tournament will be held at Abercrombie Golf Club on Friday, July 6.
Smith also mentioned that anyone looking to volunteer can contact the United Way as volunteers are always needed to help put on events.
