Man arrested for robbery in New Glasgow

NEW GLASGOW – A 20-year-old male was arrested in New Glasgow on Friday, July 20 in relation to a robbery that occurred in New Glasgow.

New Glasgow Regional Police Major Crime Unit arrested the New Glasgow man on Forbes Street  at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The robbery occurred on July 19, at approximately 10 p.m., on Forbes Street  where the victim reported that a male had a firearm and robbed him of his personal items. The suspect fled the area and police and K-9 immediately attended and searched the area.

The accused was remanded and will be charged with robbery with an offensive weapon and breach of probation.

He will be appearing in Nova Scotia Provincial Court in Pictou today.
