A crowd gathered on the Pictou waterfront at the RCMP detachment this morning to see the Special Olympics Flame of Hope take off on tour to other parts of Pictou County.
The Flame will be touring Nova Scotia communities enroute to the Canadian Special Olympics Summer Games in Antigonish, which begins with opening ceremonies today.
The Nova Scotia Law Enforcement Torch Run team is leading the contingent of Law Enforcement Torch Run runners from across the country to bring the Flame to the opening ceremonies.
Runners will visit the Michelin plant in Granton, Westville Police Service, Stellarton Police Service, Trenton Town Hall, New Glasgow Legion and New Glasgow Police Station before heading to Antigonish today.
Make sure you cheer them on when you see them!
