New Glasgow Regional Police have charge a 33-year-old man with second degree murder following an incident that occurred in the early mornings hour Friday (September 8).
At approximately 2:40 a.m. Friday, New Glasgow Regional Police were dispatched via 9-1-1 call to an unresponsive male at the Travelodge on Westville Road.
Upon arrival, officers and found a 39-year-old man from Annapolis County not breathing with signs of trauma. Emergency Health Services and New Glasgow Fire Department immediately attended and transported him to the Aberdeen Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
As a result of an investigation, a 33-year-old man from Annapolis County was arrested and charged with second degree murder.
He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Pictou on Monday, September 10.
The accused and the victim were known to each other.
New Glasgow Regional Police, New Glasgow Regional Major Crime Unit, Pictou County Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit and New Glasgow Regional Police Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.
