Car crashes into Travel Lodge—UPDATED

UPDATE:

New Glasgow Regional Police arrested an adult male after the 2008 Mazda 3 he was driving crashed through the hotel building on Westville Road New Glasgow.

At approximately 3:00pm, New Glasgow Regional Police responded to a report that a car had driven into the side of the building at the Travel Lodge on Westville Road, resulting in extensive damage to the building. No other injuries have been reported in the collision, and the male driver was arrested on site by police without incident. The 53-Year-old adult male was transported to Aberdeen Hospital.

New Glasgow Fire Department and Emergency Health Services were also on site.

New Glasgow Regional Police are investigating the incident as an impaired driving collision.

The 53-year-old male faces charges of Impaired Driving, his name cannot be released at this time as those charges have not yet been sworn before the courts.

New Glasgow Regional Police continue to investigate.
