The Pictou County Weeks Crushers will host the Valley Wildcats on Thursday at 7 p.m. in MHL action at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
The game will feature a military appreciation ceremony in conjunction with events leading up to Remembrance Day services to honour those who have represented Canada in military service.
The Crushers will visit the Yarmouth Mariners on Saturday after their scheduled game on Tuesday at the Wellness Centre. There, the Mariners prevailed 5-1, while shooting the Crushers 41-27.
Chad Wilson scored the Crushers’ lone goal in the second period after Yarmouth had taken a 4-0 lead.
The Crushers lost two games last week to remain in sixth place in the South Division. They included a 5-2 loss last Thursday at home against the Summerside Western Capitals and a 2-1 overtime loss on Saturday against the host Truro Bearcats.
Goals by Evan MacLennan and Dylan Riley in the first period gave the Crushers a 2-1 lead.
The Capitals followed a scoreless second period with four unanswered goals in the third period.
In Truro, Jake Martin tied the game for the Crushers in the second period, but the Bearcats won the game early in the overtime frame despite being outshot 30-20.
