The Subway program provided the foundation for the Northern Selects to develop over the years, culminating in an appearance at the 2018 Esso Cup National Championships. There will be giveaways, a female novice game between periods and a visit from the Subway Monkey.

The Selects will also host Saint John at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Wellness Centre.

The Selects continued to roll with two more wins last weekend over the Chevy Panthers of Cape Breton at the Wellness Centre by scores of 3-2 on Saturday at the Wellness Centre on two goals by Eva Wornell and 4-1 on Sunday in Cape Breton.

Lindsey Smith opened the scoring for the Selects in the first period on Saturday.

Wornell’s two goals gave the Selects a 3-1 lead. The Panthers added a second marker but Selects goaltender Erin Sullivan shut the door for the rest of the game.

The Selects posted a convincing 4-1 victory over the host Chevys on Sunday.

Wornell, Natalie MacKay, Mariah Linehan and Landyn Pitts, with an empty netter, scored the Selects’ goals.
