Canadas Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland spent part of the afternoon touring through the Michelin plant in Granton Wednesday.
Freeland has just recently finished negotiating what she is calling the “new NAFTA” which is a trade agreement between Canada, the United States and Mexico. During her time at the Michelin Granton plant, Freeman added that she had the opportunity to have a tour and speak to local workers, something which she had done during negotiations as well.
Local MP Sean Fraser was present as well commenting that he was thrilled with the fact that people can live and work in Pictou County.
See next weeks Advocate for more on the visit.
