TRENTON — The Pictou County Scotians will host the Sackville Blazers on Sunday in their next Nova Scotia Junior Hockey league game in Trenton.
The Scotians will visit the Liverpool Privateers on Saturday and visit the Strait Pirates on November 30 to complete this month’s schedule for them.
Colin Holmes and Jacob Pentz each collected one goal and two assists on Sunday as the Scotians downed the Cole Harbour Colts 4-1.
The Scotians led 1-0 after the first period and 2-0 after the second period.
Ryan MacDonald and Ben Kelly answered the Colts’ lone goal in the third period.
The win solidified the Scotians’ hold on second place in the Sid Rowe Division and kept them within striking distance of the division-leading Pirates that puts all the more meaning into their clash next week in Port Hawkesbury.
The Pirates have 25 points, while the Scotians have 20 points and have played one less game.
The Junior Miners from Membertou are in third place, three points behind the Scotians while having played one less game.
Pentz is tied with teammate Logan Vandermeerakker for sixth in the scoring race with 26 points. Pentz has 18 goals and eight assists, while Vandermeerakker has three goals and 23 assists.
