Man accused in Westville altercation makes first court appearance

WESTVILLE  – The man accused in the altercation that took place at the White Tail pub has made his first court appearance.

Timothy Martin, 43, of Westville appeared in court on  Jan. 17. He was charged with aggravated assault and released on a recognizance to appear again in Pictou Court on Feb. 4 at 9:30 a.m. to enter a plea.

On Jan. 15 at approximately 9:33 p.m. Westville Police were called to the White Tail Pub & Grill on South Main Street where an altercation had taken place and a 60-year-old man received serious injury. The victim was transported to the Aberdeen Hospital and later air lifted to Halifax.

Westville Police with assistance of Stellarton Police and the RCMP Major Crime Unit along with the RCMP Forensic Identification Services are conducting the investigation.

The victim remains in hospital.
