New Glasgow Regional Police have charged a driver after a pedestrian was struck in a crosswalk.
On Feb. 2 at approximately 10:40 a.m., New Glasgow Regional Police, New Glasgow Fire Department and Emergency Health Services responded to a 9-1-1 call and attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a 2010 Toyota Corolla and a pedestrian at the intersection of Abercrombie Road and Elm Street.
A 65-year-old female pedestrian from New Glasgow was travelling across Abercrombie Road in a marked crosswalk when the driver of the Toyota collided with her.
The feale pedestrian was transported by EHS to Aberdeen Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver, a 29-year-old male from Pictou County, was charged with failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk under the Motor Vehicle Act.
Police continue to investigate.
