WESTVILLE – It’s important to be able to honour Bradley Crowther’s memory, Dave Sinnis says.

Sinnis is head coach of the most Westville Miners and is helping to organize the annual Bradley Crowther Memorial Midget C hockey tournament in Westville.

Play began on Friday and will end on Sunday.

“I personally knew Bradley, Sinnis said. “It’s home town pride to be able to host the Midget C tournament out of Westville.”
Sinnis explained how a tournament honouring Crowther’s memory has replaced a plaque that was previously awarded to the winning Midget C Division championship team in Crowther’s memory during the annual Westville Christmas tournament before it was disbanded.

The Miners are hosting 15 teams that play in four-team divisions: Blue, Red, Grey and Gold.

Play began on Friday morning, while the Miners played their first game on Friday evening after the official opening ceremonies.

The Miners will play at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday.

Playoff games on Sunday are scheduled for 9 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. on Sunday, with the winners advancing to the championship game at 1 p.m.
