Peewee AAA’s win, tie with Bulldogs

TRENTON — The Pictou County Peewee AAA Crushers defeated the Antigonish Bulldogs 5-2 on Saturday in Trenton and tied the Bulldogs 4-4 on Sunday in Antigonish to wind up their regular season in the Mainland Peewee AAA Hockey League.

Keagan Dalton scored twice and Ben Manos, Landon Steele and Lane Sim got the other goals for the Crushers Saturday. Cade Mosher had three assists, while Steele and Owen Conrod added single assists.

Jorja Burrows got the win in goal.

Kaden Smith, Levon Walst, Amias Crossman and Moser tallied on Sunday for the Crushers, who rallied from a 4-1 deficit. Assists came from Dominic MacKenzie, Manos, Crossman, Smith and Clint MacLaughlin.

The Crushers finished second overall with a record of 16 wins five losses and three ties.

They will head to Yarmouth on March 8 to 10 to compete in the Mainland league championships where the top two finishing teams head to the provincial championships.

The Crushers will host the Atlantic Peewee AAA Championship from April 4 to 7 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre. The event will feature the Crushers and the top Peewee AAA teams from each of the four Atlantic Provinces.

The Crushers next see action on Saturday when they play two exhibition games in Glace Bay against the Miners.
