Graffiti is not the same as public art because it is painted on public or private property without the consent of the owner. While it may sound like an insignificant crime, graffiti has proved to cost property owners thousands of dollars in damages and has made the area to feel unsafe.
New Glasgow Regional Police advises that if you witness vandalism in progress call 9-1-1 to report it. Also if you notice graffiti that already exists you should call 902 752-1941 to report it.
