Peewee AAA and AA spring evaluations will take place at the Pictou County Wellness Centre from May 28 to 31.
Players must attend the spring evaluation in order to play Peewee AAA or AA hockey during the 2019-20 season.
The evaluation will start with a player and parent information session at the Wellness Centre at 6 p.m. on May 27.Evaluation times are 6 to 9 p.m. on May 28, 30 and 31.
Each player will have an opportunity to play four games each lasting 50 minutes. At the end of the four games the coaching staff and evaluators will identity a minimum of 24 forwards, 16 defence and goalies. These players will be invited to continue to the Peewee AAA and AA tryouts in September.
The players not making the list will begin their tryouts at the Peewee A level in September.
Players not wishing to play Peewee AAA or AA during the 2019-20 season do not have to attend the spring evaluation.
The evaluation process will be the same as the standardized process the Pictou County Minor Hockey Association introduced last fall.
Players will be evaluated on a point basis by the evaluators and coaching staff. Five experienced evaluators have been identified to assist head coach Jeff Green.
Cost for the spring evaluation is $50. Players must register online through the PCMHA website by May 20.
Players moving on to the September AAA and AA tryouts will be identified on the PCMHA website on June 3 at 6pm. They will be invited to compete at eight drills over four week in June.
The maximum cost will be $100 to cover ice time expenses.
