TRURO – Atlantic Canadians can kick off summer with the 90’s HOUSE PARTY continuing its reign in 2019 with its only stop in Truro at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre on June 1.

The tour has become one of the most sought-after live events, selling out arenas worldwide with its rotating lineup of the 90’s most iconic acts. Maestro and Quake will join Vanilla Ice in Truro as he headlines the arena sized event, including Rob Base, and All 4 One, each performing hits defining pre-millennial rap, hip hop and R&B such as “Ice Ice Baby”, “Let Your Backbone Slide”, “I Swear”, “It Takes Two” and many more. Old school will meet new school when Maestro and Quake set the 90s House Party off!

Wes Williams aka Maestro Fresh-Wes is considered the godfather of Canadian hip hop. In 1989, he became the first Canadian rapper to have a Top 40 hit with ‘Let Your Backbone Slide’. He was the first Canadian rap artist to have gold and platinum certified albums. Fellow Canadian rapper, Drake, credits Williams for giving him confidence as a Canadian hip hop artist. Drake also cites Williams’ song ‘416 to the 905’ as being one of the first rap singles to take pride in being from Toronto, which paved the way for Drake’s Toronto-centric music.
Four-Time Music NS Award Winner and Juno Awards “Master Class” Winner (2018) Quake Matthews is a young hip-hop artist who first made a name for himself in the underground battle rap scene in his early teens. Harnessing the raw energy and competitive spirit found in that arena, he was able to transcend into the multi layered artist he is today. His raspy voice and unfiltered emotion have given him a signature sound, creating a captivating listening experience for his audience.
“There has been a ton of buzz throughout the Maritimes for this show. We are thrilled to announce that the Canadian legend – Maestro Fresh Wes and local rising star Quake Matthews will also be kickin’ it in Truro on June 1st!” says Matt Moore, Rath Eastlink Community Centre general manager.
