March, Chiriac win Rose Bowl, Junior Cup

Lucas March won the coveted Rose Bowl in connection with the annual New Glasgow Music Festival.

The Rosel Bowl was presented Sunday during the Stars of the Festival concert at the deCoste Performing Arts Centre in Pictou.

Also presented was the Junior Cup which was taken by Vlad Chiriac.

iA number of other talented music students took home awards and bursaries for their participation in the annual music festival.

MUSICAL THEATRE 

Elsie Jamieson Memorial Award & Trophy ($50 each  or two at $25 ea.). Awarded to a performer in an Elementary class in Musical Theatre who is not necessarily the winner of a class but who, in the opinion of the adjudicator, demonstrated a joy of performing and a love of music.

The Rose Bowl, $1,500. The Rose Bowl, its keeper trophy and scholarship of $1,500 is donated by Harold Renouf. It is awarded to a solo performer, 18 years and under, who is playing at least advanced level repertoire as defined on Page 2, Section A of the Syllabus. The solo competitor will, in the opinion of the adjudicators, show outstanding promise and musical ability, having competed in at least six classes, four of which must be in the same discipline.
