Highway 104 crash sends two to hospital

 Marshy Hope – RCMP officers were on scene yesterday, August 4, attending to a two vehicle crash that occurred earlier that afternoon.

At approximately 3:40 p.m., Pictou County District RCMP officers were called to a two vehicle collision on Highway 104 near Marshy Hope.  A tractor trailer and a passenger car were traveling in opposite directions when they collided. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, however the driver and passenger of the car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

RCMP from Pictou and Antigonish responded, along with Fire Services from Barney’s River, Merigomish and New Glasgow.  EHS and the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal also assisted.

Motorists on Highway 104 were re-routed eastbound at the Barney’s River Exit and westbound at the James River Exit.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was on scene and  the highway was closed until approximately 11 p.m. The investigation continues.
