KEOUGH, Olive Marea


KEOUGH, Olive Marea – 88, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully July 30, 2016 in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Westville, she was a daughter of the late Peter Augustin and Margaret Mae (Campbell) Higgins.  She was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League, New Glasgow. Olive had served with the Inter-parish Choir and volunteered with the St. Vincent De Paul Society. She faithfully attended Friday morning Mass at Glen Haven Manor, where she served as a lay reader. Olive was a member of the Order of the Royal Purple, enjoyed music, reading and socializing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Surviving are daughters, Margie (Bill) Morkin, Cathy (Ross) Dahl and Patsy Severtson, Claresholm, Alta.; Sharon (Lyndon) Anderson, Lwr. Sackville; sons, Charlie (Lee) and Allan, New Glasgow; John (Stephanie), Claresholm; Wayne, Cedar, B.C.; sons-in-law, Roy, Whitehill; Dennis, Claresholm; grandchildren, Cindy, Wendy, Steven, Chris, Heather, Andrew, Natalie, Emily, Jennifer, Jordan, Matthew, Chelsea, Zachary and Jamie; great-grandchildren, Haileigh, Brody, Laney, Tyrel, Avery, Adeline and Bailey; numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jerome; daughter, Theresa Lawrence; granddaughter, Maria Fahey; great-granddaughter, Lily MacDonald; sisters, Gertrude, Irene and Mary; brothers, Charles, Gerald and John. Mass of Christian burial was August 6 in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, New Glasgow.
