Business coming to town and bringing jobs

NEW GLASGOW – Web.com Canada, Inc., New Glasgow has arrived.

The company announced on Monday it would be locating in the former Convergys facility at the Aberdeen Business Centre.

It will begin a three-day job fair on Tuesday 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday at Nova Scotia Community College’s Pictou Campus in Stellarton.

Those recruited from the job fair will help form the employment base that could increase to more than 100 jobs this year and eventually more than 300 jobs.
The company describes itself as a leading provider of Internet services and online marketing solutions for more than 3.4 million small business companies. Its parent company is based in Jacksonville, Fla. and already employees 400 people at operations in Halifax and Yarmouth.
