Roadkill, weeds give negative impression

To the Editor:
Regarding Loyd Murray’s letter to the editor of August 10: Could not agree more.
As a recent “CFA” (my wife is from Truro), I found the highways, and most other roads, a difficult mess to adapt to. I will never forget my first impression when, after driving 5,000-plus km across Canada, I approached the causeway leading into Pictou. As if the assault on the senses created by the pulp mill wasn’t enough, the road kill “graveyard” one had to thread through gave an overwhelming “run down” look and first impression.
I would also add that the weed conditions create a serious safety hazard for drivers. Visibility at intersections and “deer surprises” being two such. Motorcyclists beware!
