Julia Scammell, Sophie Wornell and Jenna Landry have helped Team Nova Scotia to the gold medal championship in the Under-18 Female Division at the 2016 Atlantic Challenge Cup in Moncton.
Scammell assisted on two goals as Nova Scotia went undefeated in its five games and defeated P.E.I. 7-1 on Monday afternoon in the gold medal match.
Scammell and Wornell each went into the game with a goal and an assist. They went pointless in Nova Scotia’s opening 4-2 victory over New Brunswick on Friday, while each player scored a goal on Saturday in Nova Scotia’s 7-1 victory over P.E.I. New Glasgow’s Jenna Landry got the win in goal.
Scammell assisted on Nova Scotia’s tying goal in a 4-4 draw with Newfoundland and Labrador later on Saturday.
Landry was in goal for Nova Scotia and Wornell collected an assist on its first goal in its 7-4 win over New Brunswick on Sunday.
Nova Scotia’s U-14 male and U-16 female teams led their division standings, while the U-15 male was second in its division standings.
