New Glasgow – MP Sean Fraser will be hosting a series of nine in-person pre-budget consultations.
Last February, Fraser and constituents participated in a similar process, engaging in conversations about what priorities matter most to them and what they believe should be reflected in the 2017 budget.
“I always look forward to these conversations and this approach to understanding exactly what the needs of the people, organizations and businesses in our riding are,” said Fraser.
Across the country, the 2016 pre-budget consultations had the highest-ever turnout on record, where the government reached more than 250,000 people and received more than 5,200 submissions.
Federal Finance Minister Bill Morneau is also collecting pre-budget information online at https://www.liberal.ca/your-say-budget-2017/.
Additionally, Fraser has prepared a survey, specific to Central Nova, where all constituents, including individuals, business leaders, political figures and those representing groups or organizations are welcome to share their input for Budget 2017. It is available at seanfrasermp.ca.
“Last year I was pleased to see direct themes and ideas that we spoke about together in Central Nova reflected in Budget 2016 such as rural broadband.”
The local session is taking place November 8 at the Bridgeview Square boardroom, 115 MacLean St., New Glasgow. The 5:30 p.m. session is for the Pictou County Chamber of Commerce and businesses; 6:30 p.m. for municipal and provincial representatives; and 7:30 p.m. for organizations and non-profit organizations.
Attendance can be RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org by November 4th. Full details are available at www.seanfrasermp.ca.
