KENDELL, Charles “Charlie” Warren — passed away on January 18 in the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Born in Woodville, Codroy Valley on August 21, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles and Vera Kendell. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Judy; their three children Kris (Lucie), Kirk (Ashley), and Emily (Oliver); four grandchildren: Julia, Tyler, Jack and Harper. Charlie is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Judy (Gerry), Dennis (Maureen), Donald (Pearl), Nancy (Bob), and Bonnie (Trent), and nieces and nephews. Charlie was a true Newfoundlander by any definition, returning annually to the Codroy Valley. He had a personality larger than life. He brought much joy to everyone through his passion for music, nature and photography. Next to his family his greatest love was music, his guitar was never far from reach. Charlie is renowned to folk festival crowds throughout the Maritimes and was in his element when playing and singing with friends and family. He was a long-time employee and member of the Michelin family, retiring in 2011 after 31 memorable years. Funeral was at H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel on January 21. Interment of ashes will take place in Newfoundland the coming summer. Donations in his memory can be made to the Palliative Care and/or Chemotherapy Department of the Aberdeen Hospital.
