TRENTON – Local athletes representing host Pictou County Cycle won races on June 4 during the 2017 Trenton Steel Wheels mountain bike races.
Aaron Robinson was first, Brandon Roy was second and Roddie Maclean was fourth in the Male Sport (Category C) race over two laps of the course covering 6.8 kilometres for each lap.
Natasha Hahn was first and Edith Mummery was third in the Under-13 female race over one lap and 4.8 kilometres, while Harper Fraser was second and Kale Shipley was third in the U-13 male event.
Noah Langille was second in the Under-17 Male two-lap race.
In other races, Jennifer Baudoux was fifth and Madison Baudoux was sixth in the Female Expert (Category B) race of the same length.
Thomas Baudoux was 17th in the Male Elite (Category A) race that covered four laps and 6.8 kilometres.
Craig Lorge was 15th in the Male Expert (Category B) three-lap race.
Aidan Hahn was fourth in the Under-15 Male two-lap race on the 4.8-km course.
Keeley Shipley was second in the U-15 female event.
Tony Corbin was fifth in the Master Men’s 40-Plus two-lap race.
More than 100 mountain bikers come out to participate in races at Trenton Park on Sunday morning. The races counted as qualifiers for the Canada Games and brought participants from all over Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and P.E.I. to compete. (Brimicombe photo)
