Crash sends two to hospital

New Glasgow Regional Police are investigating a two-vehicle collision that occurred Wednesday, Oct. 18.

At approximately 6:45 p.m. hat day, New Glasgow Regional Police, along with the New Glasgow Fire Department and Emergency Health Services responded to the collision near the intersection of East River Road and Washington Street.

The crash involved a 47-year-old female with a 19-year-old female passenger, driving a 2014 Mazda car and a 59-year-old female with a 16-year-old female passenger in  a 2017 Toyota car.

The driver and passenger of the Mazda were transported to Aberdeen Hospital by EHS for non life threatening injuries. The driver and passenger of the Toyota were not injured.

Both vehicles suffered substantial damage and had to be towed from the scene.

East River Road is a major thoroughfare in the Town of New Glasgow and was closed in both directions for approximately 45 minutes.

New Glasgow Regional Police are in the preliminary stages of the investigation and continue to investigate the cause of the collision.
