Peewee AA Crushers go 2-1-1


TRENTON – The Pictou County Crushers opened their season in the Nova Scotia Mainland Peewee AA Hockey League recently with two wins, a loss and a tie.

The Crushers won both games against the Truro Bearcats by scores of 4-1 on October 14 in Truro and 4-0 on October 15 at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.

Brennan Hood, Cole Thompson, Zachary MacInnis and John Kay Martin scored in the first game. Assists went to MacInnis, Martin, Hood, Colby Nichol and Blake MacLennan.

Levon Walst, MacInnis, Mac Wallace and Landon Steele tallied for the Crushers on Sunday. Clint MacLaughlin assisted on two goals, while Thompson and Ben Marchand each had one assist.

The Crushers tied Western Valley 4-4 lost 3-2 in two games last Saturday.

Nichol scored twice in the first game at the Wellness Centre, while Wallace and Walst also scored. MacLaughlin, MacInnis and Steele had two assists each and Wallace had one assist.

MacLaughlin and MacInnis scored the Crushers’ goals later Saturday in Trenton.

The Crushers next see action this weekend when they participate in the Bluenose Invitational Tournament in Amherst.
