The deadline is fast approaching for the YMCA of Pictou County’s first-ever Youth Exchange.
Twelve Pictou County youth ages 12 to 17 years old will visit the YMCA of Oakville this summer, as well as host youth from Oakville for a week.
“Experiences in both areas will focus on what it means to belong to our community,” said Heather Beaton, Youth director. “This experience will also give youth the opportunity to plan a fundraiser, to get to know other youth, and to help determine activities for when the youth from Oakville join us in Pictou County.”
Youth will have the opportunity to learn more about their community, to share with others what they love about Pictou County, and to explore another community and YMCA.
Applicants from age 12 to 17 years old are welcome to apply. Applications can be picked up at the YMCA of Pictou County Welcome Desk, by visiting the YMCA website at www.pcymca.ca or by contacting the youth director, Heather Beaton. Deadline to submit an application is Monday, April 30.
