Paint the Piano is back!

Arts & Entertainment Community Featured

A partnership between the Town of New Glasgow and Creative Pictou County – Paint the Piano – is back again this year to celebrate music in an artistic way.
Paint the Piano was first developed in 2017 by Creative Pictou County executive board member, Jake Chisholm. The piano was painted at the re-launch of Creative Pictou County in June, then rolled out underneath the tourism pavilion located across the street from Glasgow Square Theatre. Instantly, the piano was a staple piece of art and music in the downtown area. Since then, residents of Pictou County have donated additional pianos to the Town of New Glasgow as a way to expand what has become a very popular feature.

Building on the success of the event last year, the town and Creative Pictou County are working together to build a theme and look for designated locations within the downtown. Four pianos will be painted and then placed around the Town of New Glasgow for the summer and fall months.
The event will take place at the former John Brother MacDonald Stadium in New Glasgow, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12. Hosted by Pictou County artists, all members of the community are welcome and encouraged to take part in the event.
