HALIFAX – Nova Scotia’s Progressive Conservatives can now start registering to attend the Party’s leadership convention.

Registration opened for the convention that will be held at the Halifax Exhibition Centre on October 26 and 27.

“Choosing a party leader is one of the most exciting things a political party can do,” said Leadership Selection Co-Chair, Tara Erskine.

“In our case, we won’t just be picking our Party’s leader, we are choosing Nova Scotia’s next premier.”

Unlike some leadership contests of the past where each constituency elected delegates to represent them at the Convention, the Party chose a convention format where every member can attend the Convention and cast their own ballot for leader.

“We believe the model we have chosen combined with five great candidates will make for an exciting Convention,” said  Chris d’Entremont, co-chair of the Leadership Selection Committee.

Members can register online for the Leadership Convention.  Early bird registration is available until October 1.  For those who are unable to attend the Convention, there is an option to vote by mail.

Five great candidates and a 1 member, 1 vote, equal ridings model will make for an exciting convention Oct 26-27 at the Halifax Exhibition Centre.

In order for members have a vote to select our next leader, they must have an up-to-date membership by September 11.
