First writers camp a hit

Sherbrooke Village’s first Writers Camp wrapped up this past Sunday and it was a huge success.

Many thanks for the success of the camp is owed to members of the Sherbrooke Village Writers Guild for the part they played in the newest learning program being offered by the Village.

The inaugural camp featured instruction by seasoned writers: Clary Croft, Harry Thurston & Sheree Fitch with an additional workshop offered by Whitney Moran.

A public gala was held on Saturday evening at the Sherbrooke Village Exhibit Centre with all participants taking part by giving short readings to their fellow writers and invited guests.

The majority of those registered for the camp reported that they were already prepared for next year’s camp.

The success of the current learning programs at Sherbrooke Village have added strength to the reasoning behind establishing the “Rural Institute for Cultural Heritage and Environmental Sustainability” (RICHES) at Sherbrooke Village Museum.
